Water donations for our patients have steadily been coming in following the call for water donations through social media. Many members of the public have dropped off water at our various sites and donated towards our campaign via SnapScan and EFT. Having water available to patients ensures that they have one less thing to worry about during these difficult times.
One of our nurses told the story of one of our patients who has no next of kin. Our nurse took some water to her and told her that St Luke’s will be able to supply her with water. The nurse shared that there was a remarkable difference in the patient’s well-being following this as her anxiety lifted. This is just one of the examples of how your generous donations help support our patients.
Some of the donations we have recieved include:
Water all the way from Johannesburg
A company in Johannesburg saw our plea for water donations and decided to generously help out. The estate agents of Alberton, along with their Head Office ERL, donated 40 ten litre bottles of water, twelve 1.5 litre bottles of water and an incredible 268 five litre bottles of water. Trucking company Kargo National also generously volunteered to transport the water from Johannesburg to us in Cape Town for free!
Johannesburg Company donates left over sealed water
After seeing our call for water donations on Facebook we received a donation of 120 x 500ml sealed water bottles from Duo Branding, a Johannesburg based company that hosted a conference in Cape Town and decided to donate their left over water bottles which were not used to St Luke’s.
UCT students raise funds to donate water
Adam Copans and Shalia Naidoo saw our call for water donations and came up with a project of bringing added value from R75.00. They subsequently bought 500ml water bottles and resold them to make profit. They used the money to buy these 6 x 5 litre water bottles which they delivered to our Head Office.
Thank-you to everyone who has donated water so far, we greatly appriciate every donation.
