Over the past couple of weeks St Luke’s Combined Hospices have been consulting extensively with various stakeholders to ensure that none of our patient services are interrupted in the event of Day Zero. With input from our community hospices and guidance from the Provincial disaster management services, we have been able to devise three plans for each of our sites to ensure that we are covered for most eventualities. Our teams here at St Luke’s have been hard at work to realise the foundations of these plans and at this point we can give our patients and their families the assurance that Day Zero will not negatively impact on our service delivery. Our Kenilworth IPU, Lizo Nobanda MDR-TB site, community hospices and at-home patient care will continue as per usual.
